Editing services can be expensive. We always suggest that in order to save money, you first take your manuscript to a friend who is a proficient writer/reader or an English teacher, for example, who would work through your manuscript with you to help identify areas that may require substantive editing and re-writing, After you have addressed those areas, it's time for us to have a look. Keep in mind that almost all accepted manuscripts require some level of editorial service.

Feedback on strengths and weaknesses of your manuscript. We'll give you advice to aid in your revision process, and suggestions for your next steps in the editing process. This evaluation does not include any editing.

Line Editing
Our most comprehensive editing package.
If you believe your manuscript is past the need for any substantive revisions and you are ready for a close look at how well written your work is, line editing is for you. Your manuscript is examined line by line with attention to grammar, spelling, clarity, repetition, word choice. May involve re-ordering paragraphs, changing chapter length, re-writing sentences, trimming as required, all while being careful to maintain your voice. Editorial suggestions may be made line by line. Copy editing and proof reading included.
Up to 20,000 words: $0.03/word
20,000 to 40,000 words: $0.025/word
40,000 to 60,000 words: $0.02/word
60,000 words and over: $0.03/word

This is for you if you are ready to begin the process of polishing your work. We don't edit the text of your manuscript, but do examine the technical side of your writing: grammar, spelling, punctuation. Your manuscript will be returned with corrections.

60,000 + words: $0.0175/word
Includes 1/2 hour ZOOM conversation with editor when copy edit is completed and manuscript returned.

Proof Reading
This is the final scrutiny of your manuscript before printing. There is no editing involved. However, it is a last chance to find any errors or inconsistencies that may have slipped past the larger edits like line and copy editing.
