A charismatic preacher arrives in a fictional small town in western Alberta. He sets about establishing his own alternate religion. Soon, many of the townsfolk are brainwashed into believing his every word.
His cult-like dogma is opposed by one young woman who sees the damage being done to the people in her small town by the preacher’s ever-increasing domination. She is baffled and frightened by what she sees happening to her mother, stepfather, and friends. She and her younger brother publicly resist the power and control exerted by the preacher, who insists on being known as the Prophet.
Their resistance will end in tragedy.

Lucy now lives in Ontario and is the manager and CFO of a branch office of a large children’s charity. An accountant in her office draws Lucy’s attention to apparent financial wrongdoing by the charity’s senior management. Lucy is already suspicious about discrepancies in the financial reports of the main office. Should she bring the matter to the attention of the Board of Directors, knowing that she will be labelled a whistleblower? She knows she will likely suffer the ugly consequences if she does.
